brakes
hy i have 2 single brake master cylinders with one outlet each like the pic.
Is it legal to use both of them side by side one feeding the front brakes and the other feeding rears or do front and rears have to come from same
master cylinders chears

if you have 2 master cylinders I am assuming you have a biased pedal box.
if so one feeds the front one the rears..

thats how most are done with a bias pedal box.
It won't pass IVA if you only have one cylinder pushing on all 4 corners.

MikeR I think your post needs some clarification..
my locost passed IVA with just one standard sierra master cylinder operating all 4 brakes

perfectly legal but your bias bar must be welded solid.

New requirements for IVA are moving to or have moved to only needing to pin the bias bar, sense is perhaps prevailing

I have heard of one iva tester who is happy with nylocs
aslong as you need tools to adjust that is locked...

You can use a single master cylinder like the sierra one but it is effectively twin piston in line in a single barrel supplying dual circuits rather
than having twin parallel/tandem pistons in side by side master cylinders supplying dual circuits.
OK, my brain has finally given up the ghost and can no longer tell stork from butter.
Twin/parallel - Two pistons side by side.
Tandem - Two pistons, one in front of the other.
As long as they operate dual circuit brakes they are both legit.

thanks for the quick replys, i dont have a pedal box yet ive still to build one, just needed to check first.
I think ill build a biased pedal box as ive already got the master cylinders just need to decide on fixing bias bar with nylocs or weld

There's a pretty good description of how to set up a bias bar on the RallyDesign website
that has pretty good pictures of how they work.
What you have then is twin master cylinders. The Sierra master is a TANDEM system. Effectivly two pistons, one in front of the other, like the riders
on a tandem bicycle. Both systems mean that should one circuit fail you still have some brakes.

I might very well be wrong... but don't you need a low level warning light these days? Might be hard to do with the integral reservoirs on
these?
Just my thoughts...

I think it can be done with special caps with integral floats.

To clarify in case somebody misunderstands
They were requiring the adjuster welded up not the bar. In any event they have back tracked on this.
