Legality of registration Q

Iv just had a customer in for some work on her car and was about to sort the invoice and noticed her numberplate is y*** 0 (number zero) HT.

I didnt think the last three letters could contain a number? I have put it into my database and it comes up with the correct information i was just curious as i have never seen one as LNNN NLL.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

That'd be a letter O (oh) then.

I thought O (oh), Z and I wern't allowed as they look too similar to 0 (zero), 2 and 1. Also i put the letter o into the system and it said car not found.

I think under the old scheme you could not have I, Q or Z in the letters bit, but O was always OK AFAIK. Now, Z is OK, but you can't have I or Q

Nope, CI plates are either:

Guernsey - number 1 to 6 digits
Jersey - as above but preceded by J or, rarely, JSY
Alderney - as above but preceded AY, prob no more than 4 digits in reality due to size of island.
