How can i prove engine age for IVA ? HELP

After 9 years & 2 baby boys and running a business full time, i'm determined that my MK indy going on the road this year.

I have a 893cc SC28 fireblade engine in my Indy. My engine Number is sc28 216****, the 216 does not correspond with the engine serial numbers in the haynes. Therefore i must have a JAP import blade engine.

I have phone Honda UK and they cannot help unless i have frame number & engine number. I DONT have the frame number.
My Local Honda dealer in Edinburgh cannot help either.

The engine has 893cc embossed on the crankcase and the wirning Diag correspondes to N spec bike, 1993.

Phoned IVA help line and its upto me to 100% prove to the examiner engine year of manufacture.

Has anyone had the same problem and did the examiner except the engine year by SC28 & engine CC size embossed on crank case.

Can i get the frame number from DVLA buy quoting the engine number ?

Is there any info out there that helps me to determine engine year.

The 893 motor was only made between 1992 and 1995 so you should be tested under the "non-cat test" CO <= 3.5% HC <= 1200ppm. If you are going to be testing at Glasgow it might be worth a phone call or a trip up to speak to the examiner to check whether proof of capacity and production dates is sufficent.

If you don't have any joy at Glasgow it may be worth speaking to Aberdeen, I've tested 2 cars at each of them and the process at Aberdeen was much more pleasurable both times.

Cheers for that. I,ll should be in a position next month to apply for IVA, do you have Glasgow or Aberdeen number ?

BTW , i see you are building ZZR1100 powered locost. Once i get the Blade done (IVA) i have a ZZR1100 for it, which i intend to modify.

How far are you on with yours ?

This will be it's 3rd year on the road but I've just started stripping it to paint it. I've done a couple of thousand miles without a single lick of paint on it and now it's taking the "rat" look to a whole new level I trhew it together to get through SVA before it changed to IVA with the intention of stripping it and building it properly but the temptation was too great

I've changed phones but I might have a number for Aberdeen in amongst my paper work. I'll get back to you but it may be some time as I'm off to Canada tomorrow and haven't packed a bag yet.

Cheers

excellent.

Are you running a std ZZR. How do you find the performance and what axle ratio are you running. Going to run mine on TB with Emerald on a 3.38 Dif with 195/45/15 tyres.

SC28E number on the engine and 893cc being embossed in crankcase is all i need to prove that car is to be tested as Non Cat car. RESULT
