Few questions before MOT
Hi guys I bought a MK Indy blade before the summer and its now nearly due its new MOT with me.
Just gotta few questions so I dont embarrass myself at MOT station..
1..Exactly what should my Dashboard display in terms of warning and indication lights ?
2..Is a rear view mirror essential for an MOT ?
3..Does the 30mm radius rule get checked on an MOT ?
4..can I take my Indy to any MOT station to get tested ??

You are not serious using a car on the road (or on a circuit ) without a rear view mirror.

when I bought the car I noticed it didn't have one and I thought it was strange.. It has to side mirrors obviously. But the centre mirror
din't bother me so I just got on with it.

I dont have a center rear view mirror fitted on mine, if i do all i can see is the cross bar on the roll bar.
I just use the side mirrors

I find a £5 sucky one from Halfrauds, give better that zero central rear vision
No radii checks, unless "dangerous"
All the IVA warning lights ougt to work really
Any station. They are all impartial and work to exactly the same standards. Like the DVLA.

Off-side and one other mirror required for MOT
3..Does the 30mm radius rule get checked on an MOT ?
No. (what 30mm rule?)
4..can I take my Indy to any MOT station to get tested ??
Yes. (but a kit car friendly one might help)

I've also been asked for a weigh bridge cert, which i happened to have on me, although i think i could equally well have pointed them at the
'max gross weight' on the dataplate? Never been asked since.
I've never hunted out a 'kitcar friendly' garage, although i have had a couple decline to MOT it due to its ground clearance.
One said it wouldnt go on there ramp, even though i said i thought it would and that i would drive it on and take responsibilty, they then directed me
to a place with a pit, which then didnt use there pit for me and put me on the ramp which was the same make/model as the one that had declined me.
The other had very wide/deep rollers that i wouldnt fit in, no brake test box, and no roller covers to get it past the rollers onto the ramp.
