SVA and Weather gear
Has anyone passed SVA with weather gear fitted?
Can any areas be classed as exempt because you have the weather gear fitted, ie test it with the roof on and the tester can not get his sphere onto
the inner top edge of the windscreen.
Would it not also eliminate all the boot lid fixings etc because they are covered from the rear by the roof?
Or is the test conducted with the roof down - ie a worst case scenario?
I know the SVA is there to make the world a safer place but just trying to satisfy my own curiosity.

At a guess, they'd regard it as a temporary fitting and ask you to remove it sometime during the test. Then you'd have the extra worry of
whether your hood fittings will pass the projections/sharp edge tests!

If you are worried about the edges on your windscreen why not, as a lot of people on the list including me, take the car for its SVA without
windscreen or wipers. This exempts so much windscreen sight lines, wipers and washers. The stupid thing about the SVA is that you can fit all those
things and your nice steering wheel when you get back from the test.

I have a car that was built pre SVA so am fortunate in that respect. i was just asking from a curiosity point of view really.
