Noise levels.

I noticed an excellent graph with lean/rich along the horizontal axis and various emissions plotted against it.
In addition to having to meet the CO and llamda limits, the permitted noise level here in Spain for road-matriculation is 91db at 3850 rpm at 50 cms.
Now for 'stoopid' question time: With a Hayabusa engined car, 1. What levels do you guys have to meet? What are your experiences in passing the IVA.
My car's a factory build so will pass UK emissions and noise tests, but I want to be fore-armed with as much information as possible, because the Spanish trafico aren't noted for their patience and leniency.

If you run the standard busa exhaust then you should be okay as noise limits should apply on cars and bikes, something for you to check out in country.

If you run a straight through pipe and I would expect this to fail, 91db is very quiet indeed.

I would try and source the standard can and adapt to fit for test purposes, also change the engine oil before you submit as mechanical noise on a bike engine and induction roar can also be as loud as the exhaust, on a bike this is heavily baffled and blocked by the seat and tank, in BEC you just have a thin sheet of ali or plastic.

Run the factory air filter assembly as well if possible and duct away from the exhaust exit.

Does the 3850 rpm rule apply to bike and car engines. A bike engine should be fairly quiet at this rpm as its not much above tickover compared to a car.

Totally different engine but my Zetec Indy registered less than 90db with a Yamaha R1 can on it at 4500 rpm.

Thanks for the guidance. You can never have too much information.
Factory build, brand spankers. Delivery late october.
I have an "importer" who'll do all the liaison with engineers/trafico/ITV (MOT/IVA) authorities to get the car road-legal.
His speciality however, is US muscle-cars, so the Busa Indy will something of a surprise for him !!
