Caliper bolts for IVA.
Someone mentioned to me that the bolts that attach the callipers to the brackets have to be lock tabbed with folded metal for the IVA requirements.
I've looked through the manual and unless i've missed something can't see the need for this. Surely thread lock compound is
sufficient here?

Lock tight is acceptable. its in the part of the manual about control items having a second method of retainment e.g nylon spring washer locktight

The only issue with threadlock is demonstrating to the tester that it's there.
Take a photo to the IVA showing you fitting the bolts with threadlock clearly visible for an easy life.

This is what i've done, I also used spring washers for belt and braces.

just put plenty on and dont clean off the residu.

My inspector just turned to me and said "you used loctite on the caliber bolts right?". When I hesitated he said " you did
didn't you" whilst nodding and smiling..............at the time I couldn't remember if we had or not they had been on there so long.
" yes of course I did" was my reply.
Photos sounds like a better idea!
