iva pass

passed iva today at chadderton. tester was happy with my fixes. straight to dvla at preston and got car registered, taxed and my new age related plate. just need to get number plates made now. have to say, i was very impressed with the dvla at preston. helpful and all sorted in 40 mins. a lot of that time was queueing!

weather was nice so drove car there and back to test. loved every moment of it.

hopefully going to stoneleigh on monday, weather permitting

thanks to everyone for all your help over the course of my build

steve

Well done chap

Was it a retest then, and if so what were the fails and fixes?

great feeling. hopefully get some more nice weather
yes it was a retest
3 fail points. hazard switch when operated, made the dash lights become live when ignition was off. petrol cap not tethered and oil leak
fixes:
swopped 2 wires on stalks. hadnt noticed this problem before test. d`oh
bath plug chain attached to fuel cap and bolt in tank
couldnt fix oil leak in time so made a cover to go over sump and bit of bell housing to catch any dropped oil. doubles up as a sump guard too

It starts around 19:30, if good weather then a few kit cars will turn up, by nine o’clock we have generally all gone.

There are a couple of us with out screens, I would really recommend a helmet and some form of waterproof jacket.
