VIN Number

I'm just getting all the info together to fill in my IVA documentation and it seems my Indy doesn't have a VIN number stamped on it that I can see??. Anyone else had this problem? or am I missing something?
Where is it normally stamped?

Help much appreciated.

Manufacturers dont always stamp them from the factory. It should be on the drivers side (usally on one of the lower cross members inline with the suspension arms)
If there is nothing and you dont have any VIN on any plates or paper wortk MK provided you have 3 choices,
- Call MK and ask them if they will or want to issue you one
- Make one up yourself based loosly around the pricples that can be found in (search will reveal a few)
- Ring the DVLA and they will issue you one.

Thank you - I called the nice chaps at MK today and they said they will send me a VIN plate for the bulk head in exchange for 20 of the queens finest.

I will probably have to wait several weeks for it - I had to send them a cheque ????

MK really need to get into the 21st century and invest in a chip 'n' pin machine.

Do you even have a vin number for it? You should have the vin stamped into the chasis and a separate plate with the vin and manufactures name on it mounted somewhere visable. Take a look at my thread from a couple of days ago. mk can't even comply with the rules for vin numbers so I wouldn't be paying them when you can get it cheaper and right. I would either buy a generic chasis plate and have it engraved or get a plate made up by a trophy shop. It's cheaper and easier than you think.

My kit is about 5 years old (bought as a part build from the bay a couple of years ago). According to the chap at MK, the SVA didn't require a chassis number when my kit was sold - which is why I didn't get one.

If I had the chassis number, I'd defo do what you suggested below. I figure the MK route you mentioned before is the path of least resistance. I do hope they give me a chassis number without an "I" in it.... fingers crossed.
