Wheel bearing play

Hi

I put new wheel bearings in my sierra front hubs the other week. Just assembled on the car and notice that both have sligth play in them. There not ajustable and to get rid of it you would neew to shim the rear of the race. Just wondering if the iva test requires no play at all or is there a tolerance? Has anyone else had this?

Cheers
Rog

i did this yesterday, there was no play. Did you remember to include the splined washer under the nut on rebuild?

Hi

Ya the washer was in place. I have got some thin shim from work so am going to try and set up with it in place. I recon it will be less than a thou.

Sussed it, 6 thou on one side 4 thou on the other? Bearings nice and free with no play. Must be a tolorance issue with the hubs or the new bearings. Sorted now anyWay
