Passed IVA but need help with next steps please!
Afternoon all!
Well my Toniq CB200 passed its IVA on Friday. (Hurrah!) so been trying to sort out registration with Swansea. Now the chap on the phone tells me in
order to get an age related plate, and not a Q plate I need to fill in a V267. I've found the form on line which is entitled -
'Deceleration of Newness-for use by independent importer'. i have pointed out that this is not an import but a car built from a complete
kit purchased (including VAT) in the uk but they are insistent. What's more they are telling me I also need to go to HMRC.gov.uk/nova and
register the car there also. But this seems to be about paying VAT on imported vehicles... Again this is not relevant to me as I bought and paid for
the kit and the VAT in the UK from Toniq Ltd... Also in the UK (well Cornwall... But it still counts!)
Anyone any experience of this? Should I just do what the man says or is there another way to go?
Cheers in advance

Thanks for the replays. Think I might pop into Peterborough dvla office before it closes down and see if I get any more sense from them.

You need to get form V55/4 or V55/5. You can order them on the DVLA website (not a download as multiple copy forms). When you order you get both.
One is for new plate application and the other is for age related (they both fall back to Q if they're not satisfied with your
documentation).
On the first page of the form it lists what else you have to send/take with it... IVA cert, insurance, cheque for registration and first years tax,
declaration of newness form (v627?) etc.
Take the whole lot to local DVLA office, walk back out with car registered or spend 6mths jumping through hoops depending on how lucky you are...
