Registering kit without original paperwork!
Hi, I'm new to the world of kit cars and have just bought a part built luego velocity rolling chassis from ebay, I have been in contact with
luego to get some background info on the car as the seller told me they would be able to provide me the relevant paperwork, apparently not though!! I
have been told it can't be registered without being able to prove the chassis is new? Kind of lost to how I go about getting it road legal and
don't won't to invest any more money into it unless I know it will be able to be tested.
This is what I received when bought the chassis:
Chassis
Wishbones
Diff
Engine
Gearbox
Wheels
Steering set up
V5 for donor sierra
Receipt from previous owner to the seller stating the parts he bought.
Thanks Liam

You can get it registered fine but it'll be on an age related plate (i.e. The same as the donor) or a Q-plate.

Thanks guys, I'll get on with building it then! Will they not request the origin and age of the chassis? As I'm guessing unknown
wouldn't be acceptable ha
Also at what sort of stage do I need to register it and is there anything I need to do until it's running paperwork wise?

You don't need to do anything with any paperwork until you're submitting the forms to book the IVA test.
My IVA journey from last year is here:

If you take plenty of photographs at every stage of the build and keep all future receipts, you shouldn't have much trouble getting it
registered.

Another new luego owner - we are a good bunch & quite a select few now because they seem to have stopped making the velocity recently.
Add your location & someone might be local to you, its always good to know some local builders.
Give a man a fish & it will feed him for a day, give him a fishing rod & you've saved a fish.
