Anybody used a POTF for IVA test

As above, notice there is only one privately owned test facility in the country that can IVA M1category based in Castle Donington not far from Donington Park.

Anybody used them/enquired about IVA'ing a kit car there?

Judging by their website http://www.greenwichknight.co.uk/import-service their iva service is aimed at import csrs, so may not have an experience eith kits, which could be a good or bad thing. Worth a call to them but I suspect, even if they are approved to, they wont touch cars they arent importing and selling on.

I remember an article about a kit car company looking to get the appropriate certification to do inhouse IVA's, but it turned out that they'd still have to pay the full fee as well as pay their own person, so it would actually work out more expensive to go private.

From previous experience, I think it is a bad idea for a company to be able to test cars they are going to sell (from an MOT point of view anyway). I have worked at to places now that have skewed the MOT rules to there benefit. I think MOTs should be do at government run facilities like 99.9% of IVA stations.

If your going to go to the Donington area then you had might as well go to the VOSA Nottingham IVA test site. Its only 5 minutes off the M1, two junctions up from Donington and they are widely regarded as being the fairest and most helpful VOSA test centre around. They were as helpful as could be when I took my Viento, whilst still making sure that my car met the required standard.

Cheers for your thoughts

As suspected they won't do kit car's:

Sorry we only do IVA tests on imported cars as kit car tests can't be done efficiently because they take about half a day to complete.

Steve, yeah Nottingham has been recommended by MK and Mac1, so could well be where I end up going.

Other option is Kidderminster, as been told there is a certain tester at Chadderton that is a IVA manual nerd and very strict.
