yep. tax ain't transferrable any more... seller gets a refund of renmaining full months, and you have to pay to tax it from 1/10, so you both
lose out

I was told this week by a guy in car sales... that if it's got a tax disc (ie. from the old system) then it continues until it runs out. Only
when it's been taxed under the new system does the old owner get a refund and the new owner has to tax from buying the car.
This was a car sales guy who tod me so I think "Caveat emptor" probably applies.

The law now is that the seller should of rang the automated line when they sold the car, then you should of rang them and taxed the car yourself as
the new owner.
Then when they receive the v5 they will refund the prev owner however many full months tax are left.

Not until you buy it. Just bringing it somewhere will have no consequence.

Yep, definitely wrong! I've just sold my car that still had seven months of tax disc tax on it, and I'm expecting a big fat cheque through
the door anytime soon. Well, it'll be a cheque, the big and fat are debatable.
