Fog light IVA requirement - I know!
I know it's been covered lots but could someone confirm who's recently been through IVA how they test the requirement.
Do i need the fancy circuit to stop them coming back on when you turn the headlights off/on.
Or is it ok just to have a normal switch working off the main headlights (not dipped)

Mine went through when the new regs were in place 2 years ago.
Normal Sierra wiring - no problem.
Seriously though, the only way to guarantee getting through is to talk to the people at the IVA station you will be going to.

Just need to be able to be switched on and off when the headlights are on.
I wrongly had mine coming on with sides too as this was how the Premier loom was.
Had to add an extra relay to make them work only off the heads.

I got it confirmed a while back.
Direct from VOSA, and the email they sent was copied in to others wihin the department so not an isolated opinion
I can confirm that the requirements for the rear fog lamp are still that they only operate when dipped beam, main beam or front fog lamps are
lit.
The requirements of note 4 will therefore only apply if the rear fog lamp then operates if the position lamps are switched off and back on, as is
possible on some modern CAN bus wiring systems. As most kit cars take the
fog lamp feed directly from the headlamp circuit, this will not be possible and as such there is no requirement for the systems listed in note 4 to be
fitted.

Will be interesting to see what they say.
I found a Chinese circuit board with a relay for less than £2 that did the job New 1 Channel 12V Latching Relay Module with Touch
Bistable Switch MCU Control
only to be told on the WSCC that I don't need it!
