I asked the seller wtf was going on with the 'MR2' and this was his reply:
Hi, log book states that it is a MR2. I took it to DVLA and they told me that because it had so many original parts that it was not a major drama to
register it under a new identity. They subsequently closed my DVLA office and I had since MOT`d the vehicle under its VIN number and not the
registration. Apparently this is common with import vehicles which have not been UK registered yet. I then drove the car for two years. I hope that
this clears the matter up. Any further questions then please ask.

So, you can simply build whatever you want and as long as you use enough original bits, you can just screw the donors number plates on and off you
go......
