ideally, though im sure someone could lend you some! Not important if you are getting a Q plate anyway.

Yep it'll most likely be a Q plate as i just intend to pick up bits and bobs at the right price along the way.
Does this mean that for a Q plate i will only need to prove age of engine for emissions or is there more to it than this. I will keep all information
i my build folder as i go along but as i have not read the sva manual yet i don't want to forget anything that may be important at a later date.

I kept just about every receipt I ever got! When the DVLA man arrived I presented him with a few heaps of receipts, one for engine bits, one for
chassis, one for running gear, and so on. He just scanned through the heaps, made a few ticks on his form, then declared himself happy.
I think that if you can account for the major bits - engine, gearbox, drivegear (maybe) then he'll be satisfied.

I ended up with a Q - didn't bother me, as all I wanted was something to drive! There are also some benefits from having a Q, at MOT time
apparently (visible smoke only, by all accounts).
