That one has been obvious for a long long time.

No front number plate will be an initial protest from me, and we'll see how it goes from there.

As I have posted before, I have a chum who has been involved in tendering for a project to fit transducers into arterial roads (initially through Scotland). These transducers and the network of data conveying technicery was detailed in the design brief as "a system to monitor and record vehicle movement". The transducers could use the number plate recognition cameras (already installed countrywide), to track induvidual vehicles. The system was to be part funded by companies 'subscribing' to the govmnt to track thier own vehicles (couriers, delivery vans, company cars etc..)
The system could also determine the average speed of vehicles.

An interesting link from that Register page:

http://gizmonaut.net/bits/suspect.html

And just think, 70% of people in this country (supposedly) are happy to be locked up for 90days without charge!

Cheers,
James

Looks like B.liar is hell bent on sucking every last drop of fun out of this country.

I guess we could have potentially millions of criminals clogging up the justice ???? system, especially if refusal to pay fines is the norm.

Solution: release all the hardened criminals to make room for those convicted of heinous traffic offences.

I'm all for nabbing insurance and tax evasion, but the odd innocent departure from the speed limit ? hmmm , yet more stealth tax

The motorist is an easy target, I reckon this will be a step too far.
Maybe we should take a leaf out of the French copybook and create stink until the Gov sees sense.

Gotta speed up on my build before they think of something to shaft kits. I may get a few months enjoyment before they lock me up and throw away the key!!

Thanks for getting me on my box

Cheers

Dave

there is an interesting comment in the article about it being illegal not to insure a vehicle which is off the road? Its only a comment so i don't know the facts but it sounds like it could cause problems!

Well well well We are all in the poo big time now are we not.
Within 6 months half of the country will be banned from driving for speeding and a build up of points.
No money for speeding coming in and road tax as vehicles will be off road, Also no parking fines or on the spot seatbelt fines etc etc etc. I rest my case Britain has closed for the forseable future Thank you for listening and goodbye.

(Quote)Dealing with the large numbers of entirely unregistered and uninsured vehicles will require real-time alerts and pursuit, and these vehicles will have to be differentiated from the many foreign registered cars on the UK's roads. As it will be a lot easier and cheaper to fine the law-abiding but forgetful than it will be to deal with the hardline serial offenders, we think we can guess which way this one will go.(Quote)

Looks like this is the way to go then. There'll be a surge in the sale of second hand MOT failures and people will use them on the road with false plates and no tax and insurance and dump them at the roadside when they've finished with them.
Sounds good to me!

Cheers
Jon
