Exhaust Silencer Overhang

I know alot of kits end up having an exhaust silencer mounted one side of the car but what is the law regarding how much it can stick out. Does it have to be within the wheel trake or wheel arch line.

Nothing in the SVA manual - but you would be making life hard for yourself when they work out the distance from the widest point of the car to the light fittings!

Not an easy question to answer in a few words - it's several pages and 2 tables in the SVA manual!

In most cases, it's 400mm min. from the widest point of the car (often the rear wings) to the edge of the light's lens.
