I have just phoned the DVLA to start the ball rolling with registering my car
I was about to say to her about making up a chassis number etc etc
and she said NO NO NO she will send me a v55 and a couple of other forms
all I do is book in for SVA Pass SVA and take all the filled in paperwork to the DVLA to register it simple as that???
this she said was that the car was on a Q plate
this doesnt sound like some of the posts Ive read on here it sounds like a right tadoo!

You will definitely need the chassis number for SVA, it's the first thing they check.

Fill out the V55 and the build up list which is a V something..., send it of with a covering letter which can also contain a made up chassis number
that you can request. They will call you and you will either be given a chassis number or the one you requested, you can also then ask for them to
organise someone to inspect the car. The inspector will then call you to arrange a time to pop round to see your car. The inspection can be done after
SVA and some people have not had an inspection at all!!
After this you can go ahead and fill out the SVA paperwork and book your test.

You also need to have a chassis number to insure the car.
