HEAR Hear. Well said.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

I'm glad so many on here a enjoying dealing with the lovely DVLA... I had a riot with them registering the car and then when they issued me with
and incorrect year for my age related plate... Fond memories - not!

I only have high praise for Stockton DVLA. Their service, knowledge and assitance was fantastic. Registration process was very easy indeed (and no,
iam not being sarcastic - deadly serious here).
Build up inspection done at home approx 6 weeks before SVA. All forms brought to the house and She spent about 15mins going thro each one telling me
what to fill in. After SVA dropped them all off in an envelope. She rang me with reg number next day (for insurance so i didnt get into problems with
the 2 week rule) and paperwork for plates arrived 2 days later.
It was her that told me about the 3 year MOT bit as well.

Our experience with the DVLA was easy. We had the car inspected prior to SVA by a really nice chap who even gave me his personal mobile number (used
it a couple of times too, he didn't mind).
When we got the MAC from the SVA, we went to Leeds DVLA and took the relevent forms etc. if I remember rightly, it was all done in less than an hour.
We were on the road the same day as the SVA test.
