Time required for SVA.

Anybody tell me roughly how long it takes, if all goes well, from applying for SVA, and actualy being road legal, so you can get taxed. I am almost complete and would like to get up to Stoneleigh if I can make it, not sure if I have enough time left. Thanks, Ray.

youll get loads of different answers mate some people are road registered within 3 days

if youve got a dvla by the sva centre get all the paperwork over to them as soon as you have passed

Ive sent my sva papers of today

the bloke said he could book me in for the 31st of this month but its a week to early for me

I can only tell you how long it took me - bare in mind tho i had build up inspection done long before applying for SVA.

From putting appn in post to recieving call from VOSA = 2 weeks.
Appointment was 1 week after (i could have had next day).
Failed first test, re-test was 1 week after.

Total so far = 4 weeks.
Dropped forms off at DVLA, had reg number by phone in 2 days, paperwork arrived within 4 days. Plates made next day and fitted - on road.

All in it took approx 5 weeks.3 of which were waiting around. Im not sure if there is faster way to pay for SVA rather than sending cheque.

HTH.

Thanks guys, at least it looks as though, with a bit of luck I might just be able to scramble up to Stoneleigh, despite being in a pretty much untried wagon. Regards Ray
