Pre SVA Inspection - Police?
Afternoon All,
Had a call this morning from Beverley DVLA Local office to say they had received my build up form. She told me that I now had to complete the V55/5
and return this with my donor registration document. I have had a look at the form and I can fill in very little until I have chassis number,
registration number etc. Also she said she would contact the Police to arrange my inspection. Is this what normally happens?
Thanks,
Steve

They have the option depending on local policy , actually I think it is a good way of doing things.

Believe it or not, the police will be more likely to admire your car and give you some leeway on things.
The dvla/sva seem to be more intolerent as they have "seen it all before"

Don't be so mean Chris, you could give a guy a heart attack like that..... it'll be the anti terror squad that turn up at you door!
Don't worry, this has come up before and I beleive it's quiet a regular occurance particularly in more rural parts of the country.
The upside is that the police give you the benift of the doubt more than the DVLA do.... but with every upside there is a downside... I think it
usually takes longer to arrange the inspection.
Who the f**K tightened this up!

I've been n taxed my road car, removed my dodgy copy of windows from my PC, replaced the copied Meatloaf CD in my garage with an original and
taken down the wires leading to my garage from the pylon! Anything else to remember?!

Probably following a lead about fraud or misleading claims leading to financial gain - something to do with a book stating a car can be built for
£250!

just had the police inspection today instigated by the beverley dvla it consisted of "nice car mate" "ooh very nice" . they
just checked that the chassis number was stamped on and that the engine number matched up to the scrapped vehicle. they said thay would send the
paperwork back to dvla to allow it to be registered
