I should add AFAIK. As long as its insured, and you have a pre-arranged appointment i think its legal to drive it to any appointment, e.g MOT, inspection, SVA, rolling road etc

Cheers on the DCOE thing

I was told the same by the woman at Brum DVLA but if i tried to do my SVA on a certain day she'd try to pop out of her office and have a look.

Check your insurance.
My policy with Adrian Flux says I am ONLY insured to drive to and from pre-booked appointments with SVA & MOT. until I have a registration No.
The DVLA inspector is obliged to visit you for a new registration I believe.
Mine certainly did.

Brian,

Give Adrian Flux a ring, I rang them and asked if it was ok to drive to the inspection and they said yes, no problem as long as you have an appointment, and they noted it on their records.

HTH,
Rich.

I was pulled by the police for not having number plates on the way home from my DVLA inspection. They looked at the appointment letter which stated that the car could not be driven to the inspection. They did let me off though.
