I did a silly thing!

OK....possibly I shouldn't have but hey - I've sent off my forms and cheque for my SVA requesting the 20th June am as the date in Aberdeen. What I was just wondering is typicaly how long it takes from sending your forms off till getting a date. I think its unlikely I'll get the 20th but how long will I have to wait??? Cheers Oli.

PS.
Do they confirm the date in writing or phone you up??

Sent mine off two weeks ago and Friday last week I recieved a "declaration form", tick two boxes and sent it back.

Still waiting.

I sent mine off a week ago and have'nt heard anything yet.
I had previously rang the SVA depot direct and they gave me an approximate wait time of 2-3 weeks, from reciept of the info fro DVLA.
Which is nice.

When I applied for mine, a week after I got another form to fill in, sent that back immediately and waited another three weeks to get my date which was two weeks later. So in total it took me six weeks from application to get it. I think you are very optimistic in getting a SVA in June, much more likely I would say the middle of July, and they will send you confirmation in writing of the date (I got two confirming letters, one from aberdeen and one from the VOSA central office)

If you're ready for the SVA now, it would be worth writing the test centre a letter (once you've got your date) explaining that you would be available at short notice should they have a cancellation which needs to be filled.

Thanks guys...as I said I thought the 20th wass a little optimistic but had a look at my diary and its practically the only time I'm free so thought what the hell might as well try it. I'm just hoping that Aberdeen aren't too busy and manage to squeeze me in. So far things have been going surprisingly well with regards to getting the kit on the road. Hopefully my luck will hold out a little longer! Cheers Oli.
