DVLA Inspection before SVA?

I've been trying to arrange my inspection before my SVA.

The DVLA want me to complete form V55/5 before they will inspect it.

However this asks for loads of info that I would have thought would come from the SVA test, such as emmissions etc.

Also it asks for a registration number, which is why I'm applying to them in the first place.

Has anyone else had to complete this for an inspection?

Thanks

Stu

Just going through same process, just fill in what info you can and the rest comes from them, after all you can't give a registration number if you dont have one.

All i did was write to my local office asking some questions ref paperwork, chassis number and home inspection. Kit car expert called me next day and arranged home appointment. She brought all the forms out and helped me fill them in. It was very simple and i found DVLA to be extremely helpful.

I don't think my local office is quite so helpful!

Thanks

With the help of the kit car man in the local DVLA office (Brighton), filled in as much detail as possible over the phone, "we can complete it at a later date after SVA" he said.

OK with own chassis number.

Home inspection a couple of days later, took all of 10 mins.

Completion of registration after SVA was equally painless, paperwork in on Wednesday on the road the following Saturday.

I had the same experience as Darren - wrote to the local office very early on in the build, was contacted by the 'kitcar man' shortly after, who told me to get back in touch with him when the car was near-enough complete (rolling chassis, bodywork, engine). He also sent me a heap of forms.

He came out a couple of weeks after I got back to him, checked the car and receipts, agreed the VIN, and generally got everything sorted.

After the SVA all I had to do was to take the MAC, assorted forms and money to the local office.

It's a shame it works so well in one area, and so badly in others.

David

I've been told I need to send money for the registration fee and road tax with the V55/5 form.

Sounds as though this isn't everyones experience.
