Scrappie Donor and V5

Was wondering. I've been getting all my donor parts from the same Sierra in the scrappies so would I somehow be able to list that as my donor for an age related plate and how would I get a copy of the V5 to send? Bearing in mind the cars nowhere near finished yet but just a thought.

You will need the ID from the srappy car I reckon,

What do you mean by ID?

If the cars already in the scrappie and they're on th ball then you may have missed the boat as it will be gone and declared scrapped already.
I'm fairly sure you'll need more than just a VIN plate to get age related.
Best thing is keep an eye out for a scrapper yourself or get the scrappie to get one for you I reckon might cost you a few pints, but worth it if you def don't want a Q.
You may find someone on here has a V5 that they don't need?

ID "Identification"You will probably need the V5 and all the chassis plates and the one stamped into the floor, And a reciept for the car.
So I would say that the plan is possibly not possible.

No not bothered about a Q was just wondering as I keep going back to the same car (its the only one not on the bottom of the piles!) He's very off the ball in fact but it sounds as said not really plausible.

If you're not bothered about a Q then you havent got to prove anything then!
Only engine age for emissions

He sounds like he might be woth an ask though

When going down the single donor route or age related plate you only need the V5. This acts as your reciept (i think it has to be in your name - ie proves it was your car etc). If you are happy with a Q then you dont even need the V5. I have not heard of anyone needing a written reciept, TBH not worth the paper they are written on anyway as anyone can write one out.
In theory if you get parts from a scrappie the V5 should have been sent off and declared scrap, either by scrap yard or last owner. However as most of the donor bits are not id'd to a particular donor then theres nothing to stop you getting a v5 from other ways.
Ref engine - in theory this is listed on V5. However my engine wasnt and DVLA werent too concerned (it was a Sierra engine though).

Plenty of bec owners have age related so proves that you dont need the engine for the points (unless some quick talking and DVLA person who didnt look took place)
I was told by DVLA that if at all possible they prefer to issue age related, something to do with them being more traceable in the future should some low life get involved necessitating Police interest.

Interestingly - when registration is complete original V5 is supposed to be written off the system. I recieved a SORN reminder for mine last month despite being on the road for 9 months!

There is also what your "local" DVLA office requires, Which as we all should know by now can differ slightly, or even greatly.

Oh yeah, engine does have a number I was confused about the V5 cos as said, surely I could just take any V5 but another thing confusing me is that if I bought a Sierra, then stripped it, then sold whats left on, as others have, then I wouldn't have a V5 nae more? What then?

You put the Sierra on SORN, registered in your name, you can then get rid of whtever you want as long as nobody wants to put the old body on the road.
DVLA then take v5 from you when you have your pre/post SVA DVLA inspection.
Yea you could take any V5 really as long as you can convice the DVLA inspctor that this new supercar is built using it's bit you're away

I'm just going through this at the moment - I scrapped my donor after taking all the bits off as I didn't realise this mattered [kept a copy of V5 thought]

The DVLA initially said definately no age related plate, but when I asked them why not they back tracked and said maybe.

Hopefully I should be trying to register in next couple of weeks so I'll let you know what I end up with.
