Sharp edges

Hi
Ready for sva soon but worried about a sharp edge round the grill suround, It's not razor sharp or anything but seems to be just less than 2.5 mm, would it be a good idea to tape some close cell sponge on to it just for the test or would this be seen as taking the p**s and ' cheating'

You can either do that, or sand it so that its not sharp or zip tie cut lengths of 1" flexible tubing to your grille which will prevent the examiner from touching the sharp edges

Cheers jos, the stick on sponge is my only option as its a chrome grill and i cant get to the rear to tie anything on,

on another thread there's talk of a specific section for robin hoods, Bob reckons that good information usually comes from 'lower' kit car sites well i can only confirm this, my own car is nothing like a seven but when i've asked questions on this site i've had nothing but good advice
I suppose the phrase 'lower' means the cars where you have to put a lot more of your own work into it rather than buy things off the shelf
anyway whatever it means please keep it up

see what i mean, nowt like a seven, mind you a mate has a west***ld

Some testers will see stick on sponge as "not " suitible for exterior application.

I don't know what you mean - a picture or more info please?

Depends on how far the edge sticks out, you can just blunt the edge.

the edge I'm trying to cover is the grill surround on an Austin Healey 100
check out my website to see what i mean there's a few pictures there, I was worried about it being seen as cheating because it's obviously not going to be permanent,
anyway I'm now at the point of no return and when it fails then at least I should know what its failed on then i can work to put those things right

website address is on last reply or just google haldane 100 it should come up there.
