sva pass today
Hi All
The end of a three year build today.
I had my SVA test today at Mitcham . I had an MOT B4 Christmas which it passed first time but today was the first long distance trip the car has done.
Even though the weather was terrable this morning, Im pleased to say i got to the test center without event. The test centre is a bit of a cold and
sterile place and you certainly feel small whilst all the trucks are going through their paces. The examiner was great , after checking all the usuals
, lights etc he let me sit in the car whilst the speedo check was being done so i could calibrate the speedo and he let me adjust my webber 500
mixture screws to lean up the mixture . All the internals passed and i even got away without a soft pad on the steering wheel!
What a very nice and helpful man
Just the registration hurdle now
Cheers all and roll on spring

They are top lads at mitcham,Michael did my 1st test and Ian the retest. They were both very helpfull and i would recomend Mitcham for the
experiance.

Thanks for the comments
The car has a dropped floor ( about 2 inches below the lower chassis member but the seats are on standard adjustable runners. Im 6ft2 and i look
through the windscreen as opposed to over it
Hope that helps
and yes its only the donor reg, just to keep plod happy

Actually having the donor reg on the car is worse than having none at all. With no plate, driving to SVA is fine and legal - as long as the insurance
has the chassis number, driving any car with the wrong plate is illegal!

I have always found that standing at the side of a road arguing the finer points of the law with the police to be a fruitless exercise. The donor is
registered to my home address so that if I were to be stopped all of the documents that I had with me would tie up. You are less likely to be stopped
with plates, illegal or not. How many police officers know that you are allowed to drive a car without registration plates? Very few I bet!
The handbrake is under the dash mounted horizontally, standard dax fitment
