uk registration help from denmark
hi guyes..
i need help.
i want to build at lotus 7type kitcar and register it here in denmark..
the build is no problem..
but it is imposible to register a new kitcar in denmark.
importing a kitcar is only posible if the car is older then 1may 1977..
after this date the car har to be typeapproved or have a EF/EU-approval.
i have been told that if you build a kitcar in the uk, and use a donor vehicle
that it is possible to get the date of fist registration, of the donor car on the V5C (uk registration certificate).
how about the car make(name) is that possible to change from the donors make(name).
would some body be able to help me with getting a car registert i the uk,so that i can import it back to denmark..
i would of course pay for the truble..
ore if i could find a cheape old lotus frame with an uk registration certificate i would be the happiest man on earth.

I am afraid that it is not the date of the first registration of the donor that is recorded, but the current year of sva.
You can get an age related plate for the donor, but the V5 will still show the year of manufacture as the sva year.
Couldn't you buy a kit from a manufacturer whose car has the type approval already?

Why not buy a Caterham? Comes in as a brand new car not a kit.

a new car is not interesting due to a 180% tax on new cars her in denmark..
butt witch cars are typeapproved..
and cars after 84 has to crash testet..
so there at a lot of rules here in denmark
