A bizarre legal question, I remember when we use to get quite a lot of them…
And here it is…if you have a windscreen that folds down like a Willy’s Jeep, which by law does not require wipers since it’s classified as a wind
deflector, can you tint it with say a very strong emerald green tint? Don’t for the love of god ask why I want to know

I would say Not. There is a distinct difference between the need for wipers and the regs concerning frontal area window tints. i would hazard a guess
that the reason you dont need wipers is more to do with year of vehicle manufacture rather than if it is a deflector or not. Construction and use regs
may only cover if the vehicle is built after a certain year. It must be well old though as afaik even series 1 landrovers need wipers and they are
from the 50's.
The bit that makes it harder to answer is what would happen if you got pulled driving with windscreen folded down (pulled for other reasons of
course). As the screen is down and heavily tinited id guess nothing would be said. However if you had the screen up i would guess you would have
bother on. The other area to define is how tinted would it be in reality?
If you are doing it for show reasons only i think i would try and get a plastic "show" windscreen made for show use only.

I would imagine the answer is Yes, but it would become illegal the second you actually put it up, whilst it's down see no reason why you
couldn't paint it black if that took your fancy - fairly pointless tho'.

All you are allowed on a front screen is a 5% reduction in available light.

If you are pulled just tell them the camo paint is mil spec IR proof so the speed cameras can't get you. At that point they will probably
forget all about the windscreen
