Do I NEED a V55/5 in advance or can I just pick one up at the VRO?

as the title says, my local vro (notts) is on the way home from the VOSA centre where I will be going for SVA, and they said to drop in on the way home.

Do I need to order a V55/5 and fill it in or can I just grab one at the VRO and fill it in there when I get there?

I have the V627/1 filled in ready, and vin agreed and applied.

Personally I'd try and get one before even if you only fill it in at the VRO. At least you know you've got it and if there's any questions you're not sure on you'll be aware of them before you turn up.

DVLA brought out a V55/5 to me on the home inspections and explained what sections to fill in (you dont have to complete every question on it).

Can they not be downloaded from the web?

no, unfortunately not!

I've just ordered an "import pack" from their web based request thingy which has the v55/4 and v55/5 in it apparently.
