Right sentiments though. Drive the car, be sensible and get it registered

decided to go in the end.

put on another pair of socks, long johns, walking trouses, waterproof trousers, micro fleece, north face down jacket, north face waterproof XCR goretex jacket, bike helemt and berghaus winter gloves so wasn't the least bit chilly, apart from feet. (I knew I should have worn shoes )

weather held up, some light drizzle but could have been worse..... even kinda looks at you as you go by

When I arrived, removed all waterproof kit to kid on I sat inside a transporter - the dvla lady didn't even bat an eyelid or say anything - I guess it is not their problem/job to worry about how people got there plus did say that I'll get wet on the way back implying that I'll be driving back as they know probalby 90% of folks do. Say a nice original Morgan there - 35 yrs old with original rusty wings and learnt that the chassis is not made from Ash as is commonly thought. (it's just the body frame)

Did worry about being stopped but as long as you don;t look shift, quite hard with a helmet on, the police left me alone (had one car go zooming up the hardshoulder ). ALos wonder if the average speed cameras did a wobbly as they would not have been able to read any registrtion front or rear

Anyways should be getting an age related plate and be taxed from 1 April (had to pay £5 due to tax going up - still worked out cheaper than the old rate back dated to 1 March)

Next question is do I get a wide rectangular rear number plate or the square type one? (can someone measure both to see which is smaller = lighter )

Did they tell you you couldnt drive it there then?

When I booked it in at Oxford DVLA, I had heard a rumour you couldnt. I drove it there anyway, and they didnt bat an eyelid. Was just a young girl sat in the cold and wet, so I think she wanted it done asap!

As for the Morgans, that is one of my mates pet peeves (his dad is a morgan dealer) The amount of people who laugh at him when hes in one and say, 'has it got woodworm yet' or something! He brought his 52 year old +4 down to Le Mans a couple of years ago. It used to do 24hr endurance races and its still going strong!
