Good luck guys

I booked mine as a way of ensuring I got the car ready to a deadline - it worked a treat

Well there's a few reasons to be scared, 1, As yet I have no seats or speedo
2, Even though this won't be my first sva and the book has been followed, I'm still nervous about having my pride and joy pulled to bits by the inspector, yes I know that if fails on anything it's for a good reason i.e its not safe but i've put a lot of work into it and what does it say about me? (professional vehicle body builder/coachbuilder)
and also I really want to be on the road for stoneleigh as I ordered my kit there last year and planed to drive it in less than a year.

Its just a bloody test, and not one than can kill you or put you in jail, and if you follow the SVA manual, you wont fail on much anyway.

Take it as a day out and a chance to see if you have built your car to a decent safe condition, not a tarts handbag !!

Whens yours Mark?
I reckon even a man like yourself will have a bit of a twitch in the back of the undies.

I was nervous before my car's test - then I decided that I'd done the very best I could and I'd just see how it turned out. It's actually an interesting experience, and most testers seem to be sensible and business-like folk.

No harm in setting a deadline, but remember that you can postpone the test without penalty if you're not ready, as long as you give them reasonable notice.

Without knowing exactly what the sharp edges are on, they should be relatively easy fixes, so when's the retest?

Sounds like a good fail if you know what I mean.
Good luck with the retest.

Isn't it strange how they always seem to pick up a couple of minor things... It wouldn't have anything to do with the first fee going to Swansea and the retest fee to the centre now would it??

Cheers

I wore Brown trousers to work today. Well, brown jeans actually.

I'm seriously looking forward to the day I need to think about sending of my SVA forms. I'm almost jealous!

Cheers
Andy

Still a way off myself, but out of interest what are the timescales for getting a test date from the date of sending off the forms, and then assuming a pass how long to get it registered on the road?

Thanks

Setting a SVA test date certainly gives you focus doesn't it

You might be pleasantly suprised though - I didn't think that I had any chance of passing at all and was prepared to come aweay with a fail and a snag list to sort out ..... but it passed first time! I was gobsmacked

Cheers,
Raz

seats - a pair of cushion off your leather sofa - how long is that gonna take????

speedo = fit a bike speedo, can be done in under a day; hardest part will the illumination.

the scary part is the drive - as you don't really know if will it stay together????? most important is that the steering is soound.

As Razman says you might be surprised - My experience was the same in that I expected to fail and hoped it wouldn't be on much, but passed 1st time.

Good luck
