Another no-engine-number-age-proof query - sorry!
I have a GSXR 1100WP to go in the middy, which is without engine number
According to http://www.dropbears.com/m/models/suzuki/modelcodes.htm
I think the WP was only made in 1993, so hopefully I can get some official info from suzuki to prove this. The engine does not have 1100WP marked on
it however, only 1074cc (which is unique I believe only to the WP and the 1994 WR model)
Any ideas:
a) Will the fact the engine was made in 1993 be proof enough to age it?
b) any idea's how to prove it IS an 1100wp?
c) Assuming I can complete A and B will I be able to make up my own engine number or leave without?

Are you absolutely certain it is a gsxr 1100WP? According to "used bike guide" - which has a very useful section at the back listing all
bikes from about 80's onwards giving spec, performance etc., the GSXR 1100 was 1127cc? They list the K,N,WP/WR & WS/WT models all under this
heading, they also mention within the listing a 1074cc model which is much cheaper, but this isn't listed as a WP?
Your biggest problem will be come registration they will inspect & will want a receipt for the engine & proof it's not stolen!!
If you can show the engine comes from a bike that was only made for a certain period - as with my ZX10 lumps, only made from 88-90 then that should be
proof enough of age I think.

I've got all the engine workshop manuals which all match up as 1100wp with the case markings as 1074
All the websites I can find list the 1993 model as being WP and 1074cc
Also the engine change to water cooled in 1993 so there's no way it can be anything earlier than that....

If the engine matches the manual & the manual says only made up to '93 then you've adequately proved age - just proof of ownership to
go!

Bugger after more research the engine was the same right up to 1998 and the only sure way to tell is with an engine number

I know this is clutching at straws...
There was one change made to 1995 models, in the cooling outputs
Would this service manual page be sufficient proof to show it's pre 1995 even though I can't say whether its 93 or 94?
