Selling V5 . . .

Hi All,
I'm breaking a Land Rover Discovery, and some guy has just emailed me asking if I'm selling the V5 and 'tags' off the car, as he has a hybrid he needs ID for. Am I correct in thinking this is completely illegal??? Just want to confirm before I email him back.
Thanks
Matt

<not a lawyer or a policeman>

It's only legit if you give/sell him the chassis to go with the v5.

Be very careful, It is illegal.
It could be some one who intends to nick one and then ring it using your ID.
Or put a wrightoff back on the road,
Steve.

Shop the barsteward to PC Plod and let them do a sting on him. Chances are he has a nicked motor awaiting a new identity.

I wouldn't say he's definately got a stolen motor!

Likelyhood he needs an ID for something he has built. If he was to buy the whole thing he could legitimately do this anyway... Its just he would have to dispose of the chassis and use so many bits of the original...
