Inspection frustration
Having a bad week this week
First thing is that I got an inspection this Friday morning at 9.30
The second thing is that I can’t find a trailer to hire or one that the tiger Avon will fit on
The third is that my come back form the mot today and all the brake pipes with excessive corrosion and they cant work on it till that Friday!
So after reading the forum there is about 50-50 on being able to dive the kitcar there or not?
When I was at the DVLA last week I asked just out of interest and the girl said “that I could not drive it there as it has no tax disc and no number
plates”
So again out of interest I sent them an e-mail to see what they would say?
I got e-mail today saying, “I am sorry but if the vehicle has not yet been registered and licensed it will not be able to be used or kept on the
public highway. Therefore it would need to be transported to the inspection.
Regards
Helen Coleman”
What do I do at the moment I have no other car to get there other that the kitcar?
Do I just drive there and pray that there is no police around??

Can't help with your M.O.T repair but have you tried Cambridge Trailers in Longstanton ref trailer hire . They are on the corner of the High
street and the old Over road .

exactly the same situation!
I was told I could have inspection 'pretty much any time I wanted' so initially said very early.. not thinking about how to get it
there.
I've since put it off for 2 weeks to get transport arranged.
Parents are coming down at the weekend so towcar sorted, and I think I've got the loan of a nearby trailer now.
and I thought the SVA was a PITA...

Stick it in the back of a luton van! doesnt cost much more than a trailer and as long as the van doesnt break down in the middle of nowhere, its
pretty much hassle free.
The tail lifts are rated at 500kg, so no problems there, just lift the front end up, and either use a crane, jack or your hands and lift the rear
on.

Im certain, that providing you SVA is booked and you have Insurance your legally covered to drive it to and from the SVA centre, i know i did with my
last build.
Hope this helps.

its not the SVA inspection he is referring to if i read the post correctly - it is the DVLA registration inspection. Its a shame the law doesnt count
the same but they are the rules we must abide by.
Im please Stockton did mine at home before SVA. All i can suggest is hiring a van and trailer. Ive never towed before so even that would be a little
daunting for me.
