Sticker front number plates?
Hey guys,
I recently tried to switch my front plastic number plate over to a stick on one which i was hoping to put on the nose on the car.
Unfortunately the guys in the shop said it was now illegal for them to make me one like this as apparantly the rules changed back in March.
Well i really don't want to put the old hard plastic number plate back on and was wondering if anyone knows where i can still get an old sticker
number plate made. If you don't want to say online if you could perhaps pm me it'd be greatly appreciated.
Cheers guys,
Nick

Try:
Fancyplates
Not sure if they supply stick on plates, but it's worth asking.

Try any of the places offering vynil graphics - they should be able to cut something for you and stick it on a white reflective backing. Someone
posted a link to a site with the font for the new UK number plates recently - you could probably give this to the company to use, most of them are
quite accomodating.

my suggestion is try a motorcycle shop

how about going to a bike or kit car show, i got some plates at Stafford this year and didn't have to show any paperwork at all.
In fact a mate of mine got a plate made for his trailer for his new everyday car and gave the guy the wrong details so he now has a completely
useless plate! unless he fancies doing some ram raids in his new pride and joy.
Goes to show no paperwork was asked for let alone checked, they were doing sticky ones too.

Towsure (manufacturer of towbars and sellers of many other things) in Sheffield stopped selling stick on plates as they claimed they were going to be
illegal - even on the rear.

Steve g & others - when i got a bike plate made for the rear, our discussion turned to fronts. Did you know (and I don't think any of us do)
- on the back of the reflective yellow paper is reflective white paper.
I'm going back to sleep now...

I went to a bike shop and bought the smaller digits, took them to a motor factors, they put them on a stadard size plate which I cut to size.
Et voila!
not legal, strictly, but at least there not italic or script like the baby racers use!
Cheers
Chris
Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

And..... My trailer board has a white number plate (old one off my car).
Never been stopped yet. My arguement is at least I'm showing the correct number! if the trailers on my car!
