Gear Knob configuration.

Is there any rules for the SVA tester regarding the legend on the top of a gear knob?

I have a type 9 gearbox where reverse is left and up. I have a nice gear knob from a BMW that shows reverse right and down under 5th.

Will the SVA tester pick up on this when he gets in and tries to find reverse? Is it a fail point?

Cheers,
Steve

Steve,

I had this the other way around ( BMW dogleg box and Ford gearleaver ) dont think its a sva fail ( but is confusing ) so i just stuck a silver sticker over it for SVA.

Stick some tape over it or paint it

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
