there is a sticky at the top of the SVA /Legal section which has a link to some good info

as far aqs SVA is concerned, fill out the form as per the instructions on the linked site - you may need to do a little digging for relevant info!

after a week or so you will recieve a request from VOSA for photos showing the car in various stages of build and reciepts for the major components used. Once you have sent these and they are satisified that you really built the car they will give you a date for SVA.

As for DVLA... you need to ring them and they will send you a registration pack. It is a computerised phone system and is quite simple to follow.. i recieved mine within 4 days.

Make sure you read up on how to fill out the form as it isn't obvious, hint: axle weight is the maximum they can hold not the weight of the vehicle! therefore put something like 450 front 500 rear 950 total... don't put you top speed to high (most seem to go for 110 ish)...

Q9 tick 'A'

dont forget to fill in q17

enjoy..

Sent SVA form on the last Friday in March. Request for reciepts etc was waiting for me when I got back from holiday 10 days later. Returned that last Wednesday. Got home tonight (1week later) and I've got a letter with SVA appointment for 12th May at Chadderton, Manchester!

I requested 6th May expecting to get one later, but not just one week later.

So about 6 week from application to test. Could be less as I didn't send the second form strieght back as I was on holiday.
