car purchase help needed

going to pick up s/hand car for mother tonite private seller
anybody know what to ask for on receipt
bill of sale or not bother just rely on V5 etc
any advice cant seem to put right words to paperon these sort of jobs

you must get a recept done to protect yourself if he claimed he did not sell it or says you never gave him the full amount or he's not payed something etc etc etc

hmmm, i guess the same should apply if i bought an engine... not for any dispute, but for SVA, i guess...
