Does SVA man require open or closed nuts, ( ), and does he require them to be steel?

If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

As long as they are the right profile for the wheel seats open or closed is good, do they make them from anything but steel?

i'm using alloy rear hub designed for racing (plenty using alloy front hubs for the cortina upright too...) not sure if i'd trust ali wheel nuts myself, but i don't know why to be honest, they'll only be as strong as whatever holds the studs in
