S.V.A cost & forms

Just want to clarify the cost of the SVA. Is it £160 or £150? Also who do you send it to? On my form which is SVA1 it says to post to the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency 91/92 The Strand, Swansea, SA1 2DH. Is this correct.

Also is this the only form i need to send to them?

After the SVA and providing i pass what do i need to take to my VRO office? I'm asuming the MAC form, V5 of donor, dosh for tax & VRO costs (£25) and all receipts etc.

Anything else?

Cheers in advance

Andy the hopeful one

I paid £150 and sent the form to the address you mentioned. Had to wait about 4 weeks for a date.

Didn't have to do anything else other than arrange insureance on VIN plate.

I also paid £150. as my car was made from bits from a write-off i didn't have a v5 form. Take all the paperwork you have to the vro as it better to have it with you then to have to go home and get it.

They normally want engine numbers and receipts etc.

Hope this helps.

Just been thru this today
VRO need MACcert
completed V55
Insurance cert
V5 of donor + a few other reciepts
£38 new registration fee (changed 01/01/04)
Normal fee for 6 or 12 months tax
Proof of identity (both part of driving licence)
They will then arrange inspection to check the engine number etc and will then issue a reg number. My VRO (reading) said inspection was currently about 4 weeks but when he saw my address he said he could do it tomorrow as he had another appointment half a mile away. But this could add in a long delay
Whether you need a separate MOT seems to depend on who you ask Swansea said yes, local VRO kit car specialist said No
Whether you get a 'Q' plate or age related plate depends on whether you make all the basic components we made our chassis and will get an age related plate. If we had bought our chassis our local VRO would issue a 'Q' plate.
Hope that helps - Alan

Standard VRO form for new registratons, Has millions of boxes to fill in but the guy was very helpful and you only need to fill in the top half dozen on either side at the beginning. - alan
