new here so firstly hello everyone, what a fantastic forum this is!!

ive hopefully got an sva test next week, according to sva manual my engine needs to be ran at 3000rpm for noise test....

i dont have a tachometer :S

what do they do? SVA doesnt have a requirement for tacho...does it?

I guess they have a tacho they can rig up as they do at the mot for emissions.
I'm glad there is a fellow builder in kidderminster, however I have a long way to go before sva.

No need for a tacho. Theyl either guess or measure the revs off the plug leads like an mot with an inductive pickup.

not sure but when you go for a mot to do the emmissions and stuff dont they have a machine where they put a prob in the dip stick and on the spark leads or somewhere like that and it comes on there computer screen they should have something like that not sure though as havent been there yet
