Passed in the morning 1st time, had car build up report inspected by VOSA bloke before SVA, and registered by 5pm that day ...I think there is an
element of luck with the SVA...I found that having a good knowledge of the rules helped as the inspectors don't do too many self build cars, and
you can set them right if they start to ask for things not relevant. That said they were nice guys and just doing a job.

Passed first time.....the test was on a Friday morning (had build inspection before the SVA), would have been on the road that evening but the
DVLA's computer was down, but did the paperwork as far as we could. Went home and got the plates made up by the local motor factors.
Wimbledon DVLA called me Monday morning to say computers were back up and running, so, come and pick up the tax.....

None yet. LOL
Hoping for first time on the 23rd April, but expecting a retest. I think that is the best attitude. Assume the worst hope for the best and maybe be
pleasantly surprised

I put 2nd time but my fail was so stooopid I count it as a spiritual first...
My 3 fail points were:
1. I forgot to take with me the pictures of the (hidden by trim) lower seatbelt mounts.
2. Indicator bulb blew enroute to SVA... I had no spare.
3. summat else I forgot.
I went along to Jaspers SVA at Mitcham last week. So that's atleast 3 I've been to including mine. Once again it was a pleasant, friendly
experience with a helpful tester. No one should be worried about the SVA/IVA test unless their car is badly built... in which case, build it better!
Cheers,
James

i failed 1st time.. in the midst of putting it right. some silly stuff though. wing mirror nut too sharp was my favourite one.....!
big one for us was no cat. the bike engine didnt run with one and assumed that would be the case if we bolted it into a car......no no no!
also one to watch is they failed me on brake bias control. was gutted cos he hadnt spotted it and i pointed it out so he could tell me where to set
it.......then the immortal word followed - well thats a fail straight away! 2 mins into it we were!

Still not passed after first time and struggling to get a weekend test I think. I've been waiting over an hour for a call back
I think it's related to home builds and "manufacture cars" as well. The tester told me something like a Westfield is just a big
airfix kit so there's rarely anything wrong with them.

I passed the first time I actually turned up for the test! I didn't make the original appointment when the oil pressure lamp came up 10 miles
from the test centre.

I passed on my first visit, but failed initially. while he wrote out the failure I corrected the silly stuff and he then wrote out a pass.
