Current regs on switches
What are the current regs on switches. I am interested in whether the hazard light switch has to have a light included in its construction, a separate
warning lamp on the dash or if both indicator lamps on the dash flashing together is sufficient.
Same question for the fog lamp switch.
thanks

I believe that if the switch is illuminated when in operation then it doesn't need a separate indicator as long as it is visible. And flashes if
hazard switch.
If you have a separate warning light or both indicator warning lamps flash, then the switch does not need to be illuminated.
No doubt someone will correct me if wrong!

Almost right Spyderman
Hazard Lights need to have an indicator warning light with the correct symbol on it, both the indicator warning lights are not suitable.
Fog lights need a warning light too, all need to be visible from the driving seat and the fog lights must not come on with the brake lights.
Hope that helps

a divertion on the same theme, do you need two indicator warning lamps? Will one that works with both indicators suffice? I say this because many cars
have only one with two arrows on it.

One is enough. If you can see the indicators from the driving seat you shouldn't actually need a warning light. You still need the one for the
hazard flasher though.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
