Road Angel speedo

Way too early for me to be thinking about this, but i just bought myself a road angel speed camera detector. As it has a built in speedo based on gps data would this be acceptable for SVA. I realise they couldn't test it on a rolling road, and presumably you would still need a mileometer. Anyone tried this yet?

I will probably pay the £99 for a lifetime update - if it helps keep a clean licence and beat the system I think that is OK.

I realise they are not a complete solution, but with good observation they should help, I hope!

Andy, i got a road angel for the same reason. I had to get the speed sorted as I had an R1 engine and a yellowbox the calibrate. All I can say is its brilliant as GPS, on the SVA my MPH was 1mph over. Problem you do have though is with 12,000 rpm and a straight through race can is you cannot hear it and with the sun out you cannot see it flashing. So I had to sell it, it was no use in the Indy.

So far, very pleased with the road angel. I have silenced the blackspot warning as there are so many of them around, including some of the best driving roads around here and I am prepared to accept the risks there!

It has spotted all the cameras I have seen, except tonight I passed a couple on the Kirkstall Road into Leeds it didn't know about, but they weren't there last Thursday so I think that is fair enough.

No warning yet about laser usage, but again as far as I am aware I haven't passed a laser trap.

I haven't been driving any faster than usual generally, but if anything a bit slower when it gives a warnings which I guess is the idea.
