MOT light switch question

I've just been getting the lights to work on my Fury (MOT on Wednesday.....) , and it seems the column switch is dead (Mk 2 escort)
The quick fix I have come up with is a toggle switch on the dash for low/high beam - completely separate from the main switch assembly - will this be OK for MOT ?
It only switches the headlights on , not side/tail lights .

Its cuz I is blond , innit

My Fury used to have no stalks and just a row of switches on the dash so I don't see why not.

there is a bridge wire that takes power from light/wiper switch to indicator/dip switch, you got that on?
when i did MOT,s it didnt matter about switches as long as the lights came on when you wanted them to.

All the wires are there , but nothing happens when the switch is moved - sidelights are working , as is flash , but I've checked the switch (armed with a meter and wiring diagram) and it dont work
Anybody got a working Mk2 escort light switch they dont need ?

Can't see anything in here that would cause it to be counted as a "fail"
