whats it worth.. sort of, take II
Deleted the last thread to fix the huage picture issue.
How far do you think I'd get pxing my Dax Rush C20XE for an elise s2, VX220 or a boxster? Is it worth considering and looking into? I'd
need it to be basically a straight swap..

Finding someone who has the exact car you want, that just happens to want the exact car you have, at the exact same price is a bit of a long shot.
Why not just sell up and buy something?

Dax cars always seem to fetch good money so you'd be better off selling IMO
Oh get some chest hair and get a z3m coupe too.

sorry, i should have been more clear.
The question really is do we think I could generate enough cash from selling up to buy one of the cars I've suggested.

I would really like a z3m coupe actually but I don't think I can get insurance on one!

I couldn't build another one to the same spec for less than £9k once its fully registered and taxed.
You never get out what you put in though do you.

Have you had a look to see what similar Dax's are going for? That pretty much defines your scope.

full specced bec or V8 can go for more than 15k+.
fully specced pintos can go for 6-12k.
Mine is fairly basic spec (no windscreen, bucket seats, engine not been rebuilt) but obviously much better powerplant so I suppose 6-8k, although I
wouldnt let it go for less than 7.5k otherwise its too big a loss.
Its all very wishywashy though. Its worth what someone will pay, which you know better than me!

I'm not a good example... everything I do is pretty much compulsive and some of the financial hits I take to move on quickly are just plain
ridiculous!
If you're prepared to bide your time, then I see no reason why you shouldn't get £8k+.
Ask around for PX's... who knows - something might pop up, but in my experience, it's unlikely. Your best bet for going down that route
is to stick it on PH for a sale of £9k and state your PX preferences in the listing. Alternatively, speak to Jay at Pure Lotus to see if he's
up for a deal on any of his stock (he takes Kit's). I suspect he will want some money his way, but you never know until you ask the
question.
In the meantime, get it advertised and try and get the cash in your hand!

If you can get insured on the others you can on a z3m coupe, also you'll not loose any cash and save on running costs too.
Just budget for rear tyres and a racelogic traction control system!

Okay, its good to have some numbers thrown back at me.
If thats the price people would want to give me for it then I wont be selling it whether I can get a boxster or not.

You will be struggling to get a decent S2 elise for less than £10.5k which will probably be a racetech or similar, £12.5k for a 111S and around £15k
for a 111R. I know I just bought one

Thing to bear in mind with Kits when selling, is time of year
*If* you definetly want to sell it needs to go fairly soon or you'll be at the 'end of the season'
Rush's always seem to fetch good money though

ive looked at doing to same as you recently im 23 and z3m and z3m coupe were both cheaper than else and vx220 for me, but in the end i decided to keep
my car as nothing can touch it value for money wise and insurance wise so what if you get wet every so often

I should add that I'm not shy about cat Ds, thats why an elise s2 could be an option!
Beaver, i dont have a car apart from the dax (which isnt even registered yet) so ideally Id like to spend the money on something I can use on more
twice a year on the rare dry days..

I currently commute 80 miles a day by bike and train.. it'd be nice to do it on a car on rainy days.
From september I'm going to be in a position where I have to get to a variety of places so a car will be necessary. The options are keep the dax
and use it when I can and get a banger, or get a good allrounder.

i would get a banger 106 diesel and keep the dax both cheaper insurance than insuring a vx220 i bet
