honda blackbird emmissions

honda blackbird engine on carbs 1997 year model. if its a lot of hassle to get the emmissions down for IVA test could i convert the engine to fuel injection. I would have to get throttle bodies for fuel injection, wiring loom , ecu and fuel pump to presurise fuel system.

i thought about this before and was told the head was different but someone may correct me??

can you not just purchase a injection engine?
or do you have the carb already??

i did pass 2 blackbirds with carbs but its just tricky to get through,

speak to mk i am sure they could advise you, they got my first blackbird car through,

good luck

I have a Blackbird ecu/key/hiss & Power Commander 3 , if you can swap the head over for an efi one.

There are throttle bodies on ebat now for about £40

Hi

I have a carb bbird with bbird inj bodies, the heads are different but with a bit of persuasion the rubbers will fit, however I needed to tap in unions for the waxstat choke Thingy also the angle is different so you can mount lower than an inj engine.

You will however need to use an aftermarket ecu as the carb head doesnt have a cam sensor

I run megasquirt on fuel only with the sparks from the stock Honda ignition.

Iva emissions were an easy pass with this set up and a cat.

Ash.
